Level II Ballet for Figure Skaters

About the Class

This class is designed to further explore the figure skater’s artistic side of their skating. Skaters need to have at least 2 years of ballet training to be in this class, unless otherwise approved by Jaclyn. The ballet II class is for ages 12 and up.

In class we focus on the following:

Body alignment

Stretching, strength and flexibility, ability to balance and hold extensions

Arm positions and quality of arm movements

Upper body elegance, posture, and position

Leaps and jumps

Musicality

Ballet terminology, memorization, attention to detail, and muscle awareness

Expression

Schedule:

Level II Ballet Classes (August – May)

Location: Scottsdale Ice Den – APEX Upstairs Room

Day/Time:
Saturdays: 12:00pm – 1:00pm AND/OR Tuesdays: 4:45pm – 5:45pm

Location: Chandler Ice Den – Ballet Room

Day/Time: Wednesdays: 4:45pm – 5:45pm

Level II Ballet Summer Classes (May – July)

Location: Scottsdale Ice Den – APEX Upstairs Room

Day/Time: Wednesdays 11:45am – 12:30pm

Location: Scottsdale Ice Den – Ballet Room

Day/Time: Saturdays – Time and Dates TBD

Location: Chandler Ice Den – Ballet Room

Day/Time: Mondays 12:30pm – 1:15pm

Pricing / Requirements:

Tuition: $20 through Skater-Ice.

Dress: Hair is to be pulled back off face, no dangling jewelry, skating attire is fine for dress. Ballet shoes are required.

Note: Please meet outside of Ballet studio. Do not enter the room without a teacher. No street shoes are allowed inside the studio, No food or drink is allowed inside the Ballet studio.
